OUR SCHOOL

The school is named after Daniel Hale Williams, born in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania on January 18, 1856.  He was an American general surgeon who, in 1893, performed a successful pericardium surgery to repair a wound. He also founded Provident Hospital, the first non-segregated hospital in the United States with an interracial staff.

P.S. 307 was erected in 1965 and serves children from 3K through 5th grade.  In 2013 we were awarded a Magnet Grant and our theme is STEAM.  As a Magnet school, we can enroll in-zone and out-of-zone students.

Principal's Message

Dear 307K Community,
I am honored and thrilled to be your interim acting principal and I am excited to meet and get to know each of you! I have eight years as an assistant principal at 277Q, a District 75 school. I have been with 277Q since 2013 as a founding teacher, IEP coordinator and assistant principal. I have supported programs and initiatives such as; our D75 inclusion programs with partnered community schools, a district based inquiry study to further support students with autism, phase one of Into Reading HMH curriculum rollout, and more. Prior to my move to New York and joining the DOE in 2009, I taught two years in my college town of Kalamazoo, Michigan. I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in special education from Western Michigan University. Additionally, I have a master’s degree in educational leadership from Bank Street College, here in New York City. I am a leader that believes in the age old saying, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I believe in providing a safe, nurturing environment where students can develop the skills necessary to become successful lifelong learners and members of society. I believe in an open door and collaborative approach to learning and developing with all school community members to provide a positive and equitable learning environment for all students. On a personal note, I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I enjoy the outdoors and have a love for a wide variety of music. I am a board game enthusiast and love taking the time to disconnect from technology and connect with family and friends around the table and a game. While I hope to share more about myself in the coming weeks, I also want to get to know you! I have some potential topics of discussion that will help me get to know you, the needs of our school community and support our work together through the rest of the 2024-25 school year and beyond.
